The Public-Private Partnership Centre (PPP Centre) has conducted training for businessmen, investors and officials from government institutions in Tanga Regional Councils, educating them on the work carried out by the centre. Speaking at a working session held over the weekend in Tanga region, involving these groups, the Head of the Project  Analysis/Evaluation Unit, at the Public-Private Partnership Centre (PPP-Centre), in Tanzania, Dr. Suleiman Kiula, said that among the tasks carried out by the centre include managing and developing partnership projects in the country.

Kiula also explained the importance of using PPP in the implementation of national development plans, the legal and institutional framework for the implementation of the PPP program in the country. ''There are times when the Government can initiate projects but managing them can be a bit of a challenge, so for that reason, the Government has introduced a partnership policy using the private sector to play its role'' said Kiula.

For his part, the Assistant Project Coordinator of HEET University Mzumbe, Dr. Lihoya Chamwali, commended the PPP- Centre for the good work it continues to do in ensuring that it manages development projects, while saying that the university is still progressing with the construction of a building on the campus which will be completed in March this year.
