FORUM ON TANZANIA’S ECONOMIC TRENDS TOWARDS VISION 2050.

Development stakeholders, academics and experts from the private and public sectors have commended the significant strides made through the implementation of the National Development Vision 2025, noting that despite global economic challenges, Tanzania has been able to maintain the foundations of development. However, they noted that the agricultural sector remains weak due to its dependence on rain and lack of agricultural input industries, thus requiring significant investment in irrigation and infrastructure.

The debate emerged at the Inclusive Economy Conference held this week at Mzumbe University (Mbeya) prepared by the University of Dar es Salaam through the Mwalimu Julius K. Nyerere Professorship, in collaboration with the Public-Private Partnership Center (PPPC).
Participants emphasized the importance of building an economy that directly affects citizens and encouraging youth participation in transformational sectors.
