The Government emphasizes the Building of an Internationally Competitive Workforce.

THE GOVERNMENT has prioritized building a skilled, creative and ethical workforce to ensure Tanzania has human resources that will be able to compete in the regional and international job market. Prime Minister Kassim Majaliwa made this statement on October 11, 2025 in Dar es Salaam during the opening of the Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere Memorial Conference held at the University of Dar es Salaam Library Hall. He said the government continues to implement strategic plans to develop skills through various programs, including the establishment of vocational education and training (VETA) colleges in each district and the implementation of the National Skills Development Program.
The Executive Director of Public Private Partnership Centre (PPP-Centre) David Kafulila, has said that the nation's success in implementing the 2050 Development Vision depends on the quality of the existing workforce, emphasizing that this is the legacy and thinking of Mwalimu Julius Nyerere. "Today's world depends on the quality of our workforce, it is the measure of how a nation can overcome challenges and achieve development," said Kafulila.
For his part, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, Professor Daniel Mushi, said the private sector has a significant contribution to developing the skills of Tanzanians through investment in education, research and practical training.
