DART Phase 3 |
The DART system spans 23.6 km from the Old Postal Office in the city center to the Gongo la Mboto neighborhood in the southwest, with a branch from Kariakoo through Uhuru to TAZARA. The corridor includes Maktaba Street, Bibi Titi Mohammed Street, Julius Nyerere Road, Mandela Road (TAZARA to Buguruni), and Uhuru Street. Phase 3 is designed to include 174 trunk buses with a capacity of 140–160 passengers and 399 feeder buses with a capacity of 60–80 passengers. A total of 31 stations have been proposed for this corridor. |

Phase 4 includes Bibi Titi Mohamed Road (0.23km), Ali Hassan Mwinyi Road (5.92 km), New Bagamoyo Road (20 km), and a spur of Sam Nujoma Road (4 km). It is designed for trunk buses (140 passengers) and feeder buses (80 passengers), with 40 stations and 4 terminals proposed for this corridor. |

Mtwara – Mbambabay – Mchuchuma/Liganga SGR Railway Line (1,000 Km) |
The railway section is about 1,000 km long, running from Mtwara Port on the Indian Ocean to Mbambabay (Ameliabay) on Lake Nyasa, with spurs connecting to the mineral fields of Mchuchuma coal and Liganga iron ore mines in southwest Tanzania. Additionally, the corridor connects Tanzania with at least three other countries (Malawi, Zambia, and the DRC), which promotes the country’s economy and trade. |

The railway line will connect the northern corridor from Tanga and Arusha to Musoma. It aims to address transport challenges along the Northern Corridor, connecting Mwambani Port in Tanga with Uganda through Lake Victoria. An expressway is proposed to reduce travel time from Kibaha to Chalinze from 2 hours to 1 hour. The project will be implemented under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) arrangement, with road users being charged for road usage. The toll expressway will be constructed parallel to the existing Morogoro road, allowing non-toll road users to continue using the existing road. |

The Uyole-Songwe Bypass aims to reduce congestion in Mbeya City caused by heavy truck traffic, leading to longer travel times, increased vehicle operating costs, and higher accident rates.
