The Spine Injury Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre Project

The primary objective of the project is to develop a specialized, organized, state-of-the-art- Spine Injury Treatment and Rehabilitation Centre (SITRC) for the purpose of providing a comprehensive Spine Injuries Treatment and Rehabilitation services. In addition, the project will embrace use of contemporary technology in its operation as much as possible, provide musculoskeletal anomalies, spinal column anomalies, post-surgery anomalies, joint anomalies, neurological conditions services as well as modern comprehensive rehabilitative services in Eastern and Central African neighborhood for patients with cancer, heart disease, lung problems, infected wound, amputation and severe burn.

The proposed project to be developed will include buildings with 160 bed capacity and modern technology equipment for specialized, organized, state-of-the-art- Spine Injuries Treatment and Rehabilitation in order to reduce congestion, improve quality of services and ease accessibility. In addition, the proposed project is expected to comprise hostel and associated services to house patients and their relatives in need.

MOI has completed a Pre-feasibility study for the development of the state-of-art spine injuries treatment and rehabilitation centre and fully prepared Terms of Reference for a Transaction Advisor (TA) in order to proceed with a next step of doing a full feasibility study. A Transaction Advisor will conclude with the findings on technical viability based on the assessment identified through a pre-feasibility study and any issues that need to be resolved before procurement of the private partner.
